WHAT IS HIGH DEFINITION SCANNING?
High Definition Scanning (HDS) may also be referred to as 3D Laser Scanning, HD 3D Scanning, 3D Surveying, or High Definition Surveying. No matter what you decide to call it, the technology is the ultimately the same. In a nutshell, this cutting-edge technology uses lasers to scan any interior or exterior structure. These structures can be both man-made or natural. Lasers can also scan any area within the device’s field of view. Once the scan is complete, the million points of data, also known as 3D point cloud, are compiled to form a raw 3-D image. Like many 3D renderings, you can pan, zoom, and rotate through the images. The data can also be used to create 2D and 3D AutoCAD drawing and even 3D walk-throughs.
