Location: Shreveport, LA
Job Summary:
We're seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Land Surveying Field Coordinator to manage and coordinate field surveying activities. The successful candidate will oversee field crews, ensure timely and accurate data collection, and serve as a liaison between field operations and office personnel. This role requires strong leadership, organizational skills, and technical knowledge of land surveying practices and equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate daily field survey operations and scheduling of field crews.
- Review project requirements, plans, and specifications to ensure proper planning and resource allocation.
- Communicate project goals and timelines to field teams.
- Liaise between field crews, project managers, and clients to relay information and resolve issues.
- Maintain inventory of field equipment and ensure it is properly maintained and calibrated.
- Ensure field safety procedures are followed and report any incidents or hazards.
- Assist in training new field staff and ensuring team adherence to standard operating procedures.
- Use GPS, robotic total stations, data collectors, and other surveying equipment as needed.
- Travel to various job sites as required.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in land surveying, with at least 1–2 years in a supervisory or coordination role.
- Proficient with survey instruments (GPS, Total Stations, Data Collectors) and CAD software (AutoCAD Civil 3D, Trimble Business Center, etc.).
- Strong knowledge of surveying methods, boundary analysis, and construction staking.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to job sites.
Preferred Skills:
- Surveyor-in-Training (SIT) certification is a plus.
- Experience working with GIS and drone-based survey methods is a plus.
