As-Built CAD Technician (Pipelines)
Location: Shreveport, LA (on-site preferred; hybrid considered)
Team: As-Built / Survey & Pipeline
Type: Full-time
Role Description:
We’re growing our As-Built Department and looking for a detail-driven CAD Technician who understands pipeline data, ISO drawings, and final deliverables. You’ll turn field data into accurate, client-ready packages — keeping projects moving and our standards high.
Responsibilities:
- Convert survey/field data into complete as-built drawing sets (plans, profiles, alignment sheets, and isometrics/ISOs).
- Produce and package final deliverables (PDFs, DXFs, KMZs, data books, weld maps, tally sheets, and metadata) per client standards.
- Create and maintain pipeline ISOs with correct attributes: stationing, fittings, bends/deflections, valves, crossings, tie-ins, and material callouts.
- Perform QA/QC on geometry, labeling, symbology, layers, and sheet sets; verify lengths/deflections against field notes and tallies.
- Coordinate with survey crews, PMs, and drafters to resolve redlines, RFI items, and coding conventions.
- Organize project files and templates; help improve workflows and standards as we scale.
Requirements:
- 2+ years CAD drafting for pipelines, surveying, utilities, or industrial projects (as-built experience strongly preferred).
- Proficiency in AutoCAD (Civil 3D) and Data Halo; comfort working with DXF/DWG/PDF/KMZ.
- Working knowledge of pipeline as-built workflows (stationing, weld mapping, MTR/material tally checks, bend/deflection verification).
- Familiarity with coordinate systems and basic conversions (e.g., NAD83, grid-to-ground) and importing survey data.
- Strong attention to detail, version control discipline, and on-time delivery under deadlines.
- Clear, professional communication with office and field teams.
Preferred Experience:
- Experience with alignment sheets, P&IDs/ISOs, and client coding standards.
- Basic GIS (e.g., shapefiles, attributes) or KMZ/KML packaging.
- Exposure to survey workflows, data collectors, or Skyline/Trimble/Leica ecosystems.
Why join our team?
- High-impact role on a growing As-Built team with room to advance.
- Competitive pay + benefits, PTO, and paid holidays.
- Modern tools, strong QC culture, and supportive project leadership.
- Real ownership of standards and deliverable quality.
